You’ve Tried Dentures. You Know What They’re Like.
The clicking. The slipping at the worst possible moment at dinner, in the middle of a conversation, at a family gathering. The adhesives you’ve come to depend on just to get through the day. The foods you’ve stopped ordering because they’re just not worth the trouble. The way you’ve quietly adjusted your life around teeth that were never quite right.
Implant-supported teeth are a permanent alternative to dentures. They’re anchored into your jawbone, they don’t slip, they don’t require adhesive, and they don’t come out at night. You brush them like regular teeth. You eat what you want. You stop thinking about them because they work.
What’s Actually Different About Implant-Supported Teeth
Traditional dentures rest on top of your gums. That’s the core issue. Gums change shape over time, they can’t provide real stability, and because nothing is anchored to the bone, every denture patient eventually deals with loosening fit, irritation, and lost chewing strength.
Implants work differently. Small titanium posts are placed into your jawbone where your teeth used to be. Your bone fuses around them over time, creating the same kind of stable foundation your natural teeth had. The replacement teeth attach to those implants fixed in place, fully functional, and not going anywhere.

Why Patients Come to Us for This
Dr. Ali Almaawi, DDS, FICOI is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists an advanced credential that reflects years of post-graduate training in exactly this type of treatment. Most general dentists refer implant cases to outside surgeons. Dr. Almaawi handles every step himself.
That means your consultation, surgical placement, healing check-ins, and final restoration all happen here, at our Ashland practice, with the same doctor throughout. When something comes up mid-treatment a healing question, a fit issue, a change in the plan there’s one person who knows your case and can respond to it.
Patients from Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Hopkinton, Holliston, Southborough, Milford, and across MetroWest travel to our practice specifically for this in-house approach.
How It Works, Step by Step
Free Consultation
You come in. Dr. Almaawi examines your jaw, takes 3D imaging to evaluate bone density and structure, and gives you a straightforward assessment. You’ll know exactly what the treatment involves, what to expect at each stage, and what it will cost before you make any decision.
Implant Placement
The implant posts are placed under local anesthesia right here, in our office. You’re not referred to an outside surgeon. Dr. Almaawi places the implants himself, using the same 3D imaging data from your consultation to guide placement with precision.
Healing Period
Over the next several months, your implants fuse with your jaw. Most patients receive a temporary set of teeth during this time so there’s no gap in your smile or your function.
Your Permanent Teeth
Once your implants are fully integrated, your custom-made final restoration is attached. These teeth are designed to match your face, your gum line, and your preferences. They stay in. They function. They’re yours permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve had dentures for years. Is it too late to switch to implants?
It’s rarely too late, but long-term denture wear often results in bone loss, which can affect implant candidacy. The only way to know for certain is a consultation and 3D imaging. Many patients are still good candidates, and for those who have experienced bone loss, preparatory treatment is often an option.
How long does the whole process take?
Most patients complete treatment in several months from implant placement to final teeth. The timeline depends on how many implants are placed, healing response, and whether any preparatory work is needed. Dr. Almaawi will give you a realistic timeline at your consultation.
Will I have teeth during the healing period?
Yes. Most patients receive a temporary restoration during healing. You won’t be walking around without teeth while you wait for your final smile.
What if my bone isn’t strong enough?
Bone grafting may be an option to rebuild the foundation before implants are placed. This is more common than most people realize, and it doesn’t necessarily take treatment off the table it just adds a preparatory step. Dr. Almaawi will walk you through this honestly if it applies to your situation.
How do I take care of implant-supported teeth?
You brush and floss normally. No soaking. No removal routine. Regular dental checkups are important to monitor the implants and the surrounding tissue but the daily maintenance feels exactly like caring for natural teeth.
Are they really permanent?
The implants themselves, once integrated, can last a lifetime. The arch of replacement teeth may need servicing or replacement after 10 to 20 years depending on wear, but the foundation the implants in your jaw is built to last.
