Instead of relying on the peroxide gel to reach the stains in your teeth on its own, the ZOOM!® system uses a special UV light enhance the gel and force it to reach deeper into the tooth enamel to remove truly stubborn stains.
ZOOM!® Teeth Whitening treatment begins with an examination of your teeth to check for problem areas such as tartar buildup. These areas can cause irregularities in the teeth whitening process, so your dentist may recommend a thorough and professional cleaning prior to the ZOOM!® treatment.
Once your teeth are ready, the ZOOM!® whitening gel is applied. This is a peroxide-based gel which oxidizes and moves deep into the tooth enamel. The longer the gel stays on your teeth and the deeper it penetrates into the enamel, the deeper the stains which will be removed and the better your results will be.
In order to make the whitening gel truly effective, the ZOOM!® Teeth Whitening system also utilizes a patented UV light. The ultraviolet radiation from the light causes the gel to penetrate the tooth enamel more effectively and keeps the gel working longer. After approximately 45 minutes, the gel is removed and you can look at your new whiter teeth.
While the ZOOM!® treatment is being administered, you can listen to music. All you have to do is relax and let the ZOOM!® treatment do its work. Most patients have no discomfort whatsoever; a few patients report a slight sensitivity during or after the treatment that goes away quickly.
